For the second year in a row, Daniel, Ryan and John Alfred have put together a spectacular event in the Grange / North Sligo Christmas Lights Charity Tractor Run! It was a thoroughly enjoyable tractor run for all the family.

Following the same route as in 2021, the tractors, festooned with more lights than you could count, left Gilroy’s Yard, Grange and headed for Cliffoney. There were spectators all along the route but the crowds gathered all around Mullaghmore Head and the lay-bys along the road to catch the view and the excitement of all the tractors, trailers, front loaders and other machines as they passed by sounding their horns and showing their Christmas spirit!
Families came from miles around to enjoy the evening and some even moved around the route to see the machines pass more than once!

Cheques, cash and other donations were counted and the organisers raised over €12,700 between two local charities: North West STOP and Sligo Cancer Support Centre. Both charities which do fantastic work in the area when people are most in need. The funds raised were split evenly between the charities and our Chairperson went to Mullaghmore to meet with the organisers and stand for a cheque presentation along with representatives of Sligo Cancer Support Centre. €6350 was donated to each charity during a blustery Sunday in Mullaghmore.
With thanks to Daniel, Ryan and John Alfred for a well organised event. Their efforts and those of everyone involved in the running of the event are greatly appreciated.
